Project Type Personal Ongoing Campaign Project
Project Goal:
This personal campaign was built to capture the human side of the outdoors—focusing on the connection between people, motion, and nature. The intent was to push my creative boundaries and develop visuals that align with top-tier outdoor brand storytelling. Through this, I aimed to merge fine art landscape sensibilities with authentic, cinematic human moments.
Role:
Creative Director and Lead Photographer
Approach:
I approached the shoot with a fly-on-the-wall mindset—minimal direction, maximum authenticity. My focus was to let the trail runner move naturally within the landscape, allowing genuine motion and emotion to unfold. Leveraging my experience in natural landscapes, trail navigation, and cinematic composition, I created visuals that felt both raw and intentional—capturing the harmony between endurance and environment.
Challenges:
Maintaining restraint and resisting the urge to overly direct was a challenge. The terrain and timing required flexibility beyond typical shoot planning—navigating shifting light, elevation, and the unpredictable rhythm of the runner’s pace while ensuring each frame told a cohesive visual story.
Results:
The project resulted in a striking portfolio piece that blends motion, emotion, and landscape artistry. It stands as an authentic reflection of human connection to the outdoors and opened opportunities to connect with other outdoor athletes and brands who value storytelling rooted in ethos and natural beauty.
